ZANPER — Self-propelled battery-powered transport truck
For more than three years, the Blasting Services Department at KGHM ZANAM S.A.has been using self-propelled electric transport vehicles in its daily work, thus proving their functionality and the rationale for further developments in this direction. In mining environments, the vehicles provide the range of between 100 and 150 km on a single charge, with charging times oscillating between 60 and 90 minutes. Vehicle availability remains at 90%, which proves to be an excellent result.
The machine’s name is derived from two words — ZANAM and ampere. The combination of the Company’s name with the unit of current perfectly reflects the meaning of the name ZANPER. Created by KGHM ZANAM S.A. designers, the fully electric vehicle brings a new quality and a promising vision for the future — especially in an era of stringent environmental regulations. For this reason, manufacturers of mining machines are working intensively on battery-powered solutions, taking advantage of the dynamic development of technology in this area.
Electric vehicles are gradually becoming an everyday sight on the roads. This trend, among other things, inspired the creation of ZANPER vehicles. The vehicles come in two versions:
-
ZANPER 1.0 — a model based on a Toyota frame,
-
ZANPER 2.0 — a completely original project of our engineers, designed and manufactured from scratch in the production halls of KGHM ZANAM S.A.
Every day, the crew of almost 60 KGHM ZANAM S.A. engineers works on improving machines, responding to the needs of the latest technologies. Their solutions have proven themselves not only on the surface but especially in such demanding conditions as underground mines.
