Skips manufactured by KGHM ZANAM reached hard coal mine
On 20 February this year, there was a logistically complicated project in the Legnica production plant, which involved the transport of large, several-metre-high skips manufactured especially for the Mysłowice-Wesoła mine, which is part of Polska Grupa Górnicza S.A.
Many years of experience of KGHM ZANAM in the production of skips, obtained during numerous project implementations for KGHM Polska Miedź S.A. mines, led to the conclusion of a contract for the delivery of skips designed to work in the hard coal mine.
These skips are specialist equipment designed to transport excavated material from the mining department level for further processing. The skips manufactured by KGHM ZANAM have a high carrying capacity of 30 tonnes as well as an effective transport speed of 16 m/s.
“We are proud of our product as it was positively evaluated both by experts and by the State Mining Authority, which issued a relevant approval document. Our skips are manufactured with very high precision and accuracy, which has a considerable impact on many factors such as their durability or low noise,” says Tadeusz Milko, the Head of the Factory Quality and Production Control Team.
The first skips will start operating in the mine as early as in April. Currently, the process of the assembly and installation of the skip in the “Karol” shaft hoist in the Mysłowice-Wesoła mine is underway under the supervision of a qualified team of KGHM ZANAM employees.
